Action details
Castle Gardens, 1pm. On a busy pre-Christmas Saturday, let's join the other Ukuncut supporters all over the UK by causing some peaceful trouble for the major corporate tax dodgers in Swansea town centre. We've got Vodafone, Topshop and Topman, Dorothy Perkins, Burton and British Home Stores. These protests will be non-violent. We'll stop people getting into the shops, hopefully forcing them to close. We want to show Philip Green and the multi-nationals that we are not going to let them owe £25 billion that could be supporting the poorest among us. Bring food, non-alcoholic drinks and warm clothes. Write us some fun chants. Share your ideas on the Wall. Be prepared to have fun! Contacts: swansea.uncut@gmail.com / Twitter: @UKuncutSwansea HOW YOU CAN HELP Print out some leaflets from this page: http://www.ukuncut.org.uk/resources If you're under 25 you can get a load of free photocopying from Info-nation on the Kingsway. I recommend you get there before Saturday so's to not overwhelm the photocopier! Be prepared to hand out a LOT of leaflets and answer questions. Know the names and figures and sources if you can. Seeing as it's the last weekend before Christmas, there are going to be hundreds, if not thousands, of people shopping at these places. If you are interested in occupying a shop, please print out some of this: thethirdestate.net's legal advice. It's some legal advice and general practical advice that is really good to know if you're planning on occupying. If possible, print out some for yourself and some to share among people who'd like to be spontaneous.
