Nottingham - 30th Jan @1pm, Clumber Street, Vodafone!
If "we're all in this together" why are our services being cut, why are we being made to pay more VAT while businesses get away with not paying tax? We pay tax, so why don't they?
Nottingham Students and Residents are coming together to say "ENOUGH!" to companies who think they can get away with robbing this country of £billions!

Notts UKuncut closes Vodafone, Boots and Arcadia
On Sunday 31 January dozens of Notts UKuncut protestors closed Vodafone, Boots and Arcadia shops across the city of Nottingham. Students were joined by trade unionists from PCS, Unison, CWU, RMT and NUT for a Notts UKuncut day of action as part of a national protest.
Vodafone was ready for us and the doors were closed before we arrived. We served them with a tax bill for £6 billion and then marched to the Victoria Centre Boots.
Boots is of course a Nottingham based company. The founder Jesse Boot, donated the land on which the University of Nottingham is built, and endowed the Jesse Boot Chair of Chemistry. Since a private equity buyout in 2008, the HQ of Boots has moved to Switzerland and hundreds have lost their jobs at the firm.
On arrival at Boots we were met with locked doors and security and agreed to ‘disperse’ before meeting up again, via different routes, inside the Victoria Centre.
Boots and Vodafone stores were closed before we arrived in the centre, chanting ‘Pay your tax’. We held a rally in Top Shop as staff and customers watched on, despite being manhandled by store security.
