Saturday December 18th is Pay Day, our next day of mass action. One week before Christmas, protests will be taking place across Britain. In Nottingham students, trade unionists, public sector workers, service users, students, children and parents will be hitting Nottingham city centre to encourage the tax dodgers to pay.

We will be meeting outside Vodafone on Clumber Street at 1pm to make some noise! Please bring placards, banners and if possible flyers from the resources section of this website. We will be singing some very special Christmas carols with a twist and visiting other tax evading corporations throughout the afternoon.

If you’re angry that the government is cutting services for the poorest and most vulnerable whilst letting the rich avoid billions in tax, then please join Notts SOS, even if you have never been on a protest before.

Carol Singing brings down Corporations

It may not have been snowing today in Nottingham but that didn't stop a plucky band of protesters from engaging in some wintry antics. Two Vodafone shops shut their doors as the merry band of carol singers, with quite a few robin hoods as part of the pack, approached to sing some about some rather painful truths.

As services across Nottinghamshire are facing dramatic cuts and vulnerable people being put at risk it was not surprise that almost everyone who passed seemed to be more than sympathetic to a cause which would see corporations pay their fare share of tax.

And so as the anti cuts carols rung out across the city who should join this movement against offensive tax avoidance? The Salvation Army.

As they played the tune to jingle bells the protestors sung in unison 'pay your tax, pay your tax.' It was a wonderful moment.

The results:

Boots and Topshop picketed.
Some rather mashing Christmas singing.
